ARTIST
Born in Senigallia in 1925, Mario Giacomelli's life wasn't easy: he lost his father when he was just ten years old, so that he couldn't finish his studies and found a job as an apprentice in a tipography workshop. His career as a photographer began at the age of 25, when he bought himself a camera for Christmas. In a short time he became one of the most famous photographers in Italy and abroad. Some of his images became true icons, symbols the Italian photographic research recognised throughout the world.
