ARTIST
Mimmi Moretti was born in Catania in 1966 but he spent his childhood in Paris where he got his cultural and photographic education. Later, he moved to Rome where he became passionate about photography art approaching to the camera obscura. At the end of the 90s he started experiencing the newborn digital technology. In 2014 he exhibited his photographs for the first time in Milan and in London.

His research correlates portrait and architecture, passing by Street photography style and keeping a strong interest for social and environment issues, to arise reflections about on contemporary times. During the years he carries on his carreer as photographer alternating between commercial work and personal projects with exhibitions in italy and in Europe. In a lot of them he received national and international awards like the Silver Prize PX3 Prix de la Photographie Paris and the TIFA Tokyo International Photo Awards, among publications for Vogue and Lens Culture.

Riguardo l'Artista

Nato a Catania nel 1966, Mimmi Moretti trascorre l’infanzia a Parigi, città a cui deve la sua formazione culturale e fotografica. Trasferitosi in seguito a Roma si appassiona all’arte della fotografia avvicinandosi alla camera oscura. Verso la fine degli anni Novanta inizia a sperimentare la nascente tecnologia digitale. Nel 2014 espone per la prima volta le sue fotografie a Milano e a Londra. La sua ricerca mette in correlazione ritratto e architettura, sfociando così nel genere dello Street Photography mantenendo forte l’interesse per le tematiche sociali e ambientali, da cui scaturiscono riflessioni sull’epoca contemporanea. Nel corso degli anni porta avanti la carriera di fotografo alternando lavori commerciali a progetti personali esposti in Italia e in Europa, molti dei quali hanno ricevuto riconoscimenti internazionali e nazionali tra cui il Silver Prize PX3 Prix de la Photographie Paris e il TIFA Tokyo International Photo Awards, oltre che pubblicazioni quali Vogue e Lens Culture. Artista accreditato Vincitore di premi internazionali Mostre personali Mostre collettive Varie presenza al MIA Photo Fair Nel Luglio del 2023 ha aperto la galleria d'arte contemporanea e fotografia "Domi Gallery", a Città della Pieve.
