ARTISTA

Maddalena Fanfani, MAD, was born in Italy in the 80s and grew up watching anime. After graduating from the Art Institute, she continued her studies in fashion design at Marangoni in Milan and began to exhibit her acrylic paintings at various events. She then started working in the fashion industry. In 2005 she moved to London, where she continued her professional experience in fashion, graphics and art, working as a designer and attending a fashion stylist course at Centrale Saint Martin.

For Mad, art is a way of thinking and acting in life, a reflection of what she hears and sees every day. Her artworks depict landscapes and mythical creatures. In Mad's world, everything takes the form of a colourful stain. The mind works out thoughts and memories that the hand imprints on the surface with symbols and words. The drawing is poetry translated into her language.
