Roy Stuart is an American photographer and director.
He lived in New York and London before moving to Paris, where he began his career as an erotic photographer. His photographs are as real as the emotions of his models. "I think it's absurd that many young women don't know how to have an orgasm by themselves: it's a slap in the face to the inequality between men and women. That is why I have a lot of different vibrators in my studio and during the weeks of preparation before a shooting, I invite the aspiring models to experiment with these things to understand what they like best".
In his photographs he challenges moral and conventional codes, his models are engaged in real sexual scenes, ready to satisfy their fantasies. He declares that there are no taboos, only bad photography and the stupidity of modern commercial pornography.
Considered one of the great masters of erotic photography, Stuart has exhibited in galleries around the world and published five bestsellers with Taschen. Stuart also expresses himself through video, his first feature-length film "Giulia" (1999) was produced by Tinto Brass.
