ARTIST
Renzo Muratori was born in Tortona. He joined FIAT as a mechanical designer but in 1979 he moved to the photographic department where he worked until he retired. Since 1983 he has worked as a freelance photographer for various clients. In addition to his paid work, he carried out an intense work of personal research, as an amateur photographer, especially on the level of social research. His most famous works include: “Estate proletaria”, “L’uomo… per l’automobile”, “New York”. In Torino he attended Photographic clubs, in particular Società Fotografica Subalpina and FIAT Photographic group, led by Rinaldo Prieri, whose friendship and knowledge have been a constant stimulus and a supportive guide for Muratori over the years.
In the last years of his life, for natural sympathy, he has been closed to the Famija Moncaliereisa Photography club, where his human and professional qualities have been greatly appreciated. For his numerous awards in photography competitions, he was awarded the EFIAP title in 1973.
In 1988 the FIAF nominated him as Italian Master of Photography. He died on the 13th Of September 1992.
