Description: I was just finishing getting ready to go out and start my working day when from my hotel window I saw this policeman in the middle of a helipad on the roof of a skyscraper intent of sunbathing or at least being warmed by the sun-rays. the photo is part of the series "Alone".

"Alone" Project: In a huge city like Tokyo, we always expect to see large crowds around us. One of the aspects that shocked me the most in this Megalopolis were some moments that I shot in the series "Alone", where the human being appears alone in a huge space that seems deserted. A ghost city.  A paradox where places that should be teeming with individuals appear deserted and where the loneliness of the human being is suddenly revealed.

ARTIST
Mimmi Moretti was born in Catania in 1966 but he spent his childhood in Paris where he got his cultural and photographic education. Later, he moved to Rome where he became passionate about photography art approaching to the camera obscura. At the end of the 90s he started experiencing the newborn digital technology. In 2014 he exhibited his photographs for the first time in Milan and in London.

His research correlates portrait and architecture, passing by Street photography style and keeping a strong interest for social and environment issues, to arise reflections about on contemporary times. During the years he carries on his carreer as photographer alternating between commercial work and personal projects with exhibitions in italy and in Europe. In a lot of them he received national and international awards like the Silver Prize PX3 Prix de la Photographie Paris and the TIFA Tokyo International Photo Awards, among publications for Vogue and Lens Culture.
