The story goes that one day a painter was walking through the streets of a small french village when he came across a wallpaper shop. Seeing all those colours, he had an idea. He spent the following days gluing pieces of different papers to his cardboard drawings. He called an artist friend to ask his an opinion and the friend said it was brilliant idea, so that he invented a new way of painting. These two artists were Georges Braques and Pablo Picasso. The new technique was called collage. The works of Ricciarda Botti are precious examples of this. The eye wanders over the canvas and it gets lost in the details of these tiny worlds that this brilliant artist is able to create with a mixed technique: collage, cardboard, pencil, crayon.
