ARTIST
Herbert List (Hamburg, 7 October 1903 – Munchen, 4 April 1975) was a German photographer who joined the international photographic agency Magnum Photos in 1951. He was popular for his contributions to fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Life and for his male nude photography which set the standard. His compositions are classic and austere, in black and white, above all these ones of male nudes, shot in Italy and Greece, set the example for modern photography.
